The Canada Pavilion - from design to completion

Canadian red cedar provides the outer skin of the ecodesigned envelope which incorporates sun-breakers to create harmonious energy exchange with the pavilion's natural environment. Canadian engineers and construction specialists worked with local suppliers to provide expertise on the installation and the treatment of the red cedar to ensure its durability in the sub-tropical Shanghai climate. These partnerships created forums for showcase and promotion of Canadian wood products and design concepts.
