Canada will participate in the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China from May 1 to October 31, 2010. The Canada Pavilion is expected to attract approximately 30,000 visitors each day, for a total of 5.5 million visitors over the six-month period of Expo 2010. Following a competitive process, the Government of Canada mandated the company Pico, Inc. to recruit staff to welcome visitors at the Canada Pavilion.
Pico, Inc., in partnership with Inventa, Inc., will be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of 30-40 employees at the Canada Pavilion. The selected candidates will be considered employees of Pico, Inc. Employees will be stationed throughout the pavilion to assist with visitor flow and to answer questions about the pavilion; about Canada's theme messages :"The Living City: inclusive, sustainable, creative"; and other aspects of Canada's participation at the Expo. They will also speak with visitors about life in Canada. This is an opportunity to acquire a unique international work experience at a major international event.
