Celebrating the richness of Canadian culture, artists in disciplines ranging from performing arts to media arts are front and centre at Expo 2010 Shanghai. The unique, eclectic program brings together 165 artists from across Canada. Their works and performances will be showcased at the Canada Pavilion as well as at the presentation sites of Expo 2010 Shanghai.
With 5.5 million visitors expected to visit the Canada Pavilion during Expo 2010, the Cultural Program is an international platform for showcasing Canadian artistic talent. Cirque du Soleil, in a unique collaboration with the Government of Canada, leads the planning, organizing, and management of the program.
Examples of the Cultural Program include more than four hours of short films played on screens visitors are able to view while waiting in line to enter the pavilion. On display on the interior walls of the pavilion are photographic, digital, and canvas images by Canadian artists.
