Dancers of DamelahamidDancers of Damelahamid
This company is an Aboriginal dance collective from the Northwest coast of British Columbia. They are of the Royal Dakhumhast House of the Gitksan Nation. Their masked dances are thousands of years old and the lyrics in the songs retell the chronological development and way of life of their peoples. These high energy performances include dances in button blanket regalia that are used to welcome visitors to a feast, as well as reenact important events in their history.

MOVE: the company MOVE: the company
Founded in 2005 by its present Artistic Director, Josh Beamish, MOVE: the company is a contemporary dance group committed to the creation and performance of original choreographic works by both emerging and established artists.

Jets OverheadJets Overhead (British Columbia)
Jets Overhead has mesmerized crowds at home and abroad with their hypnotic take on ambient rock. The band was nominated for a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy equivalent) for New Group of the Year in 2007, and has recently released their second album - NO NATIONS - on Neil Young's Vapor Records. Jets Overhead made their debut appearance in China in 2009 as part of the TransmitChina festival, playing to sold-out audiences in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Shangahi Expo will mark the band's first return to China since that time. "The band's lush, driving rock is the bristling, slightly psychedelic offspring of the likes of Radiohead and Pink Floyd." -Los Angeles Times
